Hi, I’m Richa Bansal!

richa bansal pinkcareers

I am an emerging leader with over nine years of experience in operations, engineering, supply chain, and management. An engineer by background and a businesswoman at heart, I am an advocate for women leadership in engineering and technology.

Why have I started Pinkcareers?

Being the only woman in my undergraduate class of 68 students in India, the only woman on an oil rig of 125 crew in Malaysia, and the only woman engineering manager in a staff of 150 professionals at work, I see that women all over the world still are a minority in engineering and technology. I want to change that!

From getting our foot in the door for that perfect career opportunity to being impactful in our first leadership role to conquering the ranks of the corporate ladder, many of us struggle to find the right resources, guidance and attitude. We work twice as hard to prove we are half as good. And we hold back to ask for help for fear of appearing weak. I want to change that!

In 2016, I gave birth to my son while pursuing a full-time career and a full-load MBA. People asked me, am I taking a break from school now that I have a little one? Were any other new fathers in my class asked the same question? I doubt so. In 2018, I gave birth to my second son. This time, people asked me, am I was taking a break from work now that I have two kids? Why are these questions always asked of working women? I want to change that too!

Coaching students at Texas A&M Prairie View on how to own the job search by making a killer Resume!

For many years now, I have been coaching friends, so they can be more effective in their leadership. I have been helping university students perfect their resume and interview skills, so they can land their dream job. And I have been mentoring young women through social media, so they can drive their career forward. But I feel this is not enough. My voice needs to be louder.

I am confident that by sharing my experiences with the PINKCAREERS community, I can inspire and empower many more women to be their best everyday so that they can lead a fulfilling and remarkable career.

5 fun facts you didn’t know about me (but now you do):

  1. I hop on a plane once a month to see the world, visit family or to say hi to friends
  2. I played varsity basketball in India
  3. I am scared of cockroaches (well, I pretty much hate all insects)
  4. My childhood friend calls me Coconut – tough from the outside, soft from the inside
  5. I live and die by a good cup of coffee

The Pinkcareers Vision

My vision is to create a world where all women can pursue career success without feeling inadequate, overwhelmed or guilty.

The Pinkcareers Mission

My mission is to provide the best training, coaching, career advice and inspiration to young professional women to help them lead with confidence and impact.

The Pinkcareers Community’s Values

Our core values are:

BOLD: We speak what’s on our mind. We are not politically correct just because it is comfortable.

PASSIONATE: We are passionate about what we do and the causes we support. Our passion fuels our energy.

AMBITIOUS: We have big dreams, know we can reach them and are not afraid to share them with the rest of the world.

REAL: We are real women with real lives. We take care of sick loved ones, struggle with body image and raise messy 2-year olds while rocking our career.
