About Patti
Leading teams at Texas A&M University for more than 15 years, Urbina was active in ventures ranging from program evaluation and assessment, engineering, IT consortia management, and computer security research. She directed the liaison office between the main campus and the branch campus in Doha, Qatar. Prior to retirement, she served as the director of the Full-Time MBA program as well as the advisor to the Aggie Women MBAs.
Urbina holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in History with a focus on Management. She completed her Ph.D. in Education & Human Resource Development. As the first Communications Chair for the University Staff Council, Urbina was a longtime advocate for staff representation. She also served a term on the executive committee of the Women’s Administrative Network. She is an alumnus of the Center for Leadership in Higher Education’s rotational leadership development program.
A fifth generation native Texan, Urbina enjoys reading, swimming, traveling abroad and visiting family in the PNW, Arizona and the Dallas area.
